About Us
Read more about The Engine Cowl and the person behind the publication.

The Engine Cowl began its life on September 1, 2025, with a simple goal: to provide the latest news about the aviation industry through my unique lens.
I am an independent aviation journalist who previously worked at AeroTime and Simple Flying, with my experience spanning over four years.
I have also written for AirInsight and other publications.

However, I appreciate your subscription, no matter whether it is free or not!
The latter enables me to continue pursuing the goal of being an independent journalist and provide quality content to readers across the world.

Daily content
To serve the publication's goal, I will be writing daily posts and sending out daily newsletters with the latest news, written by yours truly and my peers.
AI Policy
I will never and have never used artificial intelligence (AI) to write or research content.
There are a few reasons why. First, I genuinely enjoy writing and researching everything I cover, and with AI, both parts are thrown out the window. Not ideal. Furthermore, I believe that with each story I cover, my knowledge about the industry deepens further, allowing me to improve any further content that will be brought to you.
That is the main reason.
The others, which are just as important: using AI impacts critical thinking skills (1, 2), AI companies are ripping off content made by writers, musicians, artists, publishers, and others, to train their models (1, 2), and AI data servers are impacting local communities, including their water supply (1, 2) and straining the electric grid (1).
The same goes for any images, unless they are external company-provided renderings of cabins or aircraft flying in the air. This will be the only exception to the rule since it is out of my control.
