What we do
The Engine Cowl was founded in 2025 to provide a more focused perspective on the airline industry.
We skip the daily noise to prioritize covering the most important developments. Our goal is to help readers understand the trends and decisions shaping the airline business through engaging and insightful analysis.
Why the name?
In aviation, the engine cowl is the panel mechanics open to inspect the core of the engine.
That’s our mission: to look under the hood of the airline industry, providing the deep-dive analysis and insider perspective you won’t find in a standard newsfeed.
What we cover
Our focus is the business of airlines.
This includes analysis of airline strategy, fleet management, and network planning, as well as revenue management and financial performance.
We also explore the emerging technology that powers the industry behind-the-scenes.
What we don’t cover
To maintain our focus, we don’t report on aerospace, hospitality, or aviation finance. These sectors are already well-served by several excellent publications.
You also won't find us covering the five longest routes operated by a CRJ-900 or other trivia.
