Air France confirms entire fleet to have Starlink WiFi by the end of 2026
Currently, around 20% of Air France's aircraft have Starlink-enabled WiFi services.
Air France, which has unveiled its growing winter 2025/2026 season schedule, has also confirmed that its entire fleet of aircraft will be retrofitted with Starlink-powered WiFi by the end of 2026.
On October 21, 2025, Air France detailed the changes that it has made to its winter schedule, highlighting capacity growth across several markets, and that by the end of 2026, its whole fleet would be equipped with Starlink’s WiFi solution.
The French carrier said that currently, about 20 “medium and long-haul aircraft” already have the solution enabled, “allowing customers to enjoy a free, stable, fast, and secure connection during their flight,” with the goal to equip around 30% of its fleet by the end of 2025, and all of its aircraft by the end of next year.
Planespotters.net showed that Air France has 229 aircraft, while its regional subsidiary HOP! has another 39 regional jets.
When it announced its partnership with Starlink in September 2024, it said that from 2025 onwards, it would begin fitting its aircraft with the Elon Musk-owned company’s internet solution that utilizes satellites orbiting in low Earth orbit (LEO).
For passengers wanting to use the Starlink-powered WiFi onboard the airline’s flights, they have to log into their Flying Blue account. The service is free for all passengers. When it unveiled that its first Embraer E190, fitted with new interiors, entered service in early September, it pointed out that the aircraft, registered as F-HBLV, also had high-speed internet.

Other European airlines that use or will use Starlink include, but are not limited to, airBaltic, SAS, and Virgin Atlantic. The Latvian carrier began offering high-speed WiFi to its passengers in February 2025, gradually upgrading its entire fleet, which should be done by the end of 2025, while the Scandinavian airline outlined in January 2025 that Starlink-powered internet services would begin rolling out in late 2025.
Meanwhile, Virgin Atlantic said in July 2025 that it would upgrade its WiFi services, free to all Flying Club members, from Q3 2026 2025, retrofitting Starlink on its whole fleet by the end of 2027.
When airBaltic unveiled its H1 2025 results on August 13, it said that in Q2, about 25.5% of its network flights had Starlink, and on those flights, it “measured an improvement of about 9 points in NPS [net promoter score – ed. note] compared to non-Starlink flights, supporting our thesis that high-speed internet on board could become a significant differentiation factor and provide airBaltic with competitive advantage until all the competitors are able to match this service.”
