Boeing has unveiled its August 2025 orders and deliveries, with the planemaker now counting over 700 gross orders, a significant uptick compared to its result in 2024.

According to the company’s latest orders and deliveries records, during August 2025, it had secured 26 gross orders, allowing it to surpass the 700-order mark. Customers whose deals were included in its backlog during the month include Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific, TUI, and two unidentified customer(s).

Air New Zealand added two 787-10s, Cathay Pacific purchased 14 777-9s, while TUI signed up for two 737 MAXs. The pair of unidentified customers bought three and five 737 MAX and 787-9 aircraft, respectively.

Year-to-date (YTD), this puts Boeing’s orders at 725 aircraft.  During the whole of 2024, the manufacturer’s customers ordered a total of 569 aircraft, including 415 737 MAX, 30 777X, 63 787, and others. Meanwhile, during the same eight-month period last year, the aircraft manufacturer’s YTD orders numbered 250.

Boeing’s filings revealed that WestJet has now ordered 74 aircraft during 2025. The bulk of that, 60 737 MAX 10s, plus 25 options, was announced on September 3, 2025, with the Canadian airline also securing seven 787-9s, plus four options, for its future fleet plans. The planemaker added WestJet’s order to its backlog in May 2025.

The remaining seven 737 MAX aircraft were previously assigned to the carrier.

This order has extended WestJet’s fleet growth plans through 2034.

Another large order was announced in May 2025, when Boeing and Qatar Airways unveiled that the airline had placed an order for up to 210 aircraft, including 160 firm and 50 optional orders. The deal included 130 787s, 30 777-9 aircraft, and 50 options for 787 and 777-9s, with all 160 orders being added to the planemaker's order book.

In terms of deliveries, so far, this has been the second-best month for the planemaker in 2025. In August 2025, Boeing handed over 57 aircraft: 42 737 MAX, one E-7 Wedgetail, a militarized 737-700, one KC-46 Pegasus, four 777F, eight 787-9, and one 787-10.

In June 2025, Boeing’s customers welcomed 60 aircraft, with the manufacturer’s monthly deliveries never dropping below 40 during the year. YTD deliveries had grown to 385, while as of August 31, 2024, they numbered 258.

During both years, the company had been delivering built, yet stored aircraft, including those destined to China. One exception to the China 'rule' was Lufthansa’s 787-9, registered as D-ABPF, arriving at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) on August 29, 2025. The aircraft’s first flight was on June 25, 2024, with the delivery having been delayed due to the lack of certification of the business class seats.

Lufthansa confirmed that the 787-9 would enter service with the business class seats being blocked off. Passengers would still be able to book flights in the business class suites, of which the widebody has four.

The German airline is planning for the aircraft to enter service in October 2025, flying from FRA to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).
