China’s CALC orders 30 Airbus A320neo family aircraft
A day prior, two Chinese airlines, Juneyao Airlines and Spring Airlines, ordered up to 55 A320neo aircraft.
China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) has ordered 30 additional Airbus A320neo aircraft, bringing its total Airbus order book to 282 units, 203 of which are A320neo family aircraft.
On December 30, 2025, Airbus announced that CALC purchased another 30 A320neo family aircraft, which are part of the lessor’s push to “satisfy strong demand for the aircraft from its customer base.”
With the latest order, the Chinese aircraft leasing company now has an order book of 282 Airbus aircraft, 203 of which are A320neo family aircraft. According to Mike Poon, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CALC, its partnership with Airbus has been central to the lessor’s growth.
“This latest order reflects our shared vision for innovation and sustainable aviation. We are proud to grow alongside Airbus and to continue providing our airline customers worldwide with high-value, modern aircraft solutions.”

The order came a day after two other Chinese airlines, Juneyao Airlines and Spring Airlines, issued two separate Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) filings, announcing orders for 25 and 30 A320neo family aircraft, respectively.
In its filing, Juneyao Airlines specified that Airbus will deliver the A320neo family aircraft between 2028 and 2032, with the order being approved by the carrier’s board of directors. However, Juneyao Airlines warned investors that “there is a possibility that the aircraft delivery schedule may fall short of expectations or be affected by force majeure.”
Similarly, Spring Airlines expects its A320neo family aircraft to arrive between 2028 and 2032, with its order aligning “with the company's development plan and market demand, [helping to] optimize the company's fleet structure and supplement its long-range aircraft fleet.”
Both Chinese airlines’ orders still need to be approved by their respective shareholders.
It remains to be seen whether more China-based carriers will order additional Airbus aircraft. In June, Bloomberg reported that the state considered ordering from anywhere between 200 and 500 Airbus aircraft, and in August, the outlet stated that the country’s airlines began claiming aircraft as part of an order for 500 Airbus aircraft.
Air China, China Eastern Airlines, and China Southern Airlines had plans to add around 100 aircraft to their backlogs, Bloomberg reported.
In November, Airbus confirmed that Air China Cargo had ordered six A350Fs, becoming the newest customer of the latest-generation freighter. The Chinese cargo carrier unveiled the order on October 27, publishing an update to its investors that it had planned to buy up to 10 A350F aircraft, which included six firm and four optional orders.
At the time, Air China Cargo stated that Airbus would deliver the freighters between 2029 and 2031, with the Chinese cargo airline seeking shareholders’ approval to order the aircraft.
