Emirates has introduced its Airbus A350s on flights to Oslo
Weirdly, Emirates has been flying its Airbus A350-900s since October 1.
Emirates has celebrated that its Airbus A350-900s are taking over its flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL), becoming the first destination in Scandinavia to receive the airline’s premium economy cabins.
In a statement on October 17, 2025, Emirates said that it has launched A350-900 flights between DXB and OSL, bringing its premium economy cabins to Scandinavia for the first time. A few days ago, the airline hosted a special celebration at the airport to mark the shift from the Boeing 777-300ER to the A350-900, which is equipped with premium economy seats.
Terje Grue, the Country Manager of Norway at Emirates, said that the airline was thrilled to bring the A350-900 and its premium economy to the Norwegian capital. “This is an important step in strengthening our presence in the market,” Grue added, noting that passengers will now be able to enjoy new comfort levels, whether flying to DXB or to destinations Emirates serves from its main hub in the Gulf.
However, Flightradar24 showed that Emirates has been flying its A350-900s on flight EK 159/160 between DXB and OSL since October 1, switching over from the 777-300ER that had operated departures to the Norwegian capital and had been a staple on the route.
Emirates launched flights to OSL in September 2014, initially operating the itinerary with either a 777-200LR or 777-300ER. After operating both, with the 777-200LR only appearing in its schedule sporadically, the airline switched to the latter to exclusively fly to the airport in August 2020, when it resumed flying to OSL after a brief pause during the pandemic, according to Cirium’s Diio Mi.
The carrier’s other Scandinavian destinations include Copenhagen Airport (CPH) and Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN), serving the two airports with A380 and 777-300ER aircraft, respectively. While it has been retrofitting the two types with new cabins, which include premium economy seats, Cirium’s Diio Mi showed that the two airports have been receiving aircraft without those cabins, at least in October.
Emirates now has 10 A350-900s in its fleet, according to planespotters.net, with its most recent delivery occurring on October 9. Per Cirium’s Diio Mi, the airline has scheduled 120 weekly departures to 16 destinations with the type, ranging from flights to Muscat International Airport (MCT) to departures to Edinburgh Airport (EDI).
