Frontier Airlines has announced that it appointed Anthony Salcido, a former Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) of Toyota Motors North America, to serve on its board until at least its next shareholders’ meeting in May.

On February 9, 2026, Frontier Airlines informed stakeholders in a United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing that it had hired Salcido, a former CAO of Toyota Motor North America, to serve on the airline’s board.

The temporary appointment will last until Frontier Airlines’ annual shareholders meeting, “and until his successor has been elected and qualified or until his earlier death, resignation, or removal.”

Salcido was the CAO of Toyota Motors North America until July 2019, when he retired. The ex-automotive executive will join Frontier Airlines’ board, which has been expanded from 11 to 12 members.

The new board member will also join the airline’s Audit Committee and Safety and Security Committee.

Bill Franke, the Chairman of Frontier Airlines, praised Salcido for his “deep experience in corporate financial leadership and other key areas of financial discipline,” which “will be of tremendous benefit to our organization.”

In addition to the appointment of Salcido, Frontier Airlines recently replaced its long-tenured Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Barry Biffle, with James Dempsey in December 2025.

Dempsey, who is now the President and CEO of the low-cost carrier, was previously the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the airline and served for eight years as Treasurer at Ryanair before joining Frontier Airlines in 2014.

Between October 2023 and December 2025, Dempsey was the President of Frontier Airlines.
