Porter Airlines has confirmed that it will launch service at Montreal Metropolitan Airport (YHU), formerly known as Saint-Hubert Airport, on June 15, with the Canadian carrier unveiling a dozen routes from the airport that will have a new commercial terminal to welcome airlines.

On March 24, 2026, Porter Airlines confirmed that it will begin flights from YHU on June 15, with the carrier scheduling flights on eight year-round and four seasonal routes from the revitalized airport.
According to the airline, “the airport’s location offers a more convenient air travel option for greater than 50% of the region’s population and provides easy access to downtown and Montreal’s central neighbourhoods.”
From YHU, Porter Airlines will launch flights to some of Canada’s busiest airports, including Edmonton International Airport (YEG), Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), and Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
The map of initial routes from YHU is displayed below:

Porter Airlines will base both De Havilland Canada Dash 8 Q400 and Embraer E195-E2 aircraft at YHU, which can welcome single-aisle aircraft with up to 220 seats, according to the airport.
Michael Deluce, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Porter Airlines, noted that the new terminal YHU, which will enable the airline to offer flights from the airport, “represents an exceptional private investment in transportation infrastructure that Greater Montreal will benefit from for generations.”
Yanic Roy, the CEO of the airport, added that YHU is very proud to “count on Porter Airlines as a leading strategic partner in enhancing connectivity for Greater Montreal across Canada.”
“Many major cities around the world already rely on a network of complementary airports to meet the air travel needs of residents and visitors. Montreal now joins this list with the new terminal at MET, which aims to become the airport of choice for direct flights operated exclusively using quieter, more fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft.”
The new terminal at YHU has been built as part of a joint venture between Porter Aviation Holdings and Macquarie Asset Management, a global asset manager specializing in infrastructure. This follows Porter’s original real estate investment at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ).
YHU has two runways and now has the capacity to welcome up to 4 million passengers per year.
Porter Airlines emphasized that its flights from/to YHU will complement its operations at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL), with as many as 244 weekly departures from Montreal’s two airports, split between 138 from YHU and 106 from YUL.
YUL maintains the exclusive right to offer transborder and international flights from Montreal, so only domestic destinations will be served from YHU.
“By serving both airports, Porter is offering passengers more choice, flexibility, and convenience in selecting their flights and destinations.”
