WestJet reaffirms commitment to fit Starlink to all of its Boeing 737s by the end of 2025
WestJet's Starlink installations recently surpassed the 100 Boeing 737 aircraft mark.

WestJet has continued to progress with the fitting of Starlink on its aircraft, saying that it now has the largest Boeing 737 fleet that is equipped with the internet solution as it crossed the 100-aircraft mark.
WestJet, which unveiled that it would partner with TELUS to offer Starlink internet services on its aircraft in July 2024, said on October 9, 2025, that it has now fitted 100 of its 737s, including the 737-800 and 737 MAX 8s, with the hardware and software required to offer free internet to its passengers who are WestJet Rewards members.
According to Samantha Taylor, the Chief Experience Officer of WestJet, the WiFi solution has been a real game-changer for its passengers, and the airline is proud to be the only Canadian carrier to offer the cutting-edge technology on its mainline fleet.
Air Canada has been offering free WiFi to all members of its loyalty program, Aeroplan, since May 2025. Unlike WestJet, Air Canada, partnering with Bell, will utilize Intelsat’s multi-orbit solution, directly upgrading its Intelsat 2Ku. In September 2025, the airline said that it would offer free and fast WiFi on its De Havilland Canada Dash 8 Q400s, in addition to new seats on the aircraft that are based at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ).
Nevertheless, WestJet reiterated that with the airline passing the 100 aircraft milestone, it was “soaring ahead of schedule” with the retrofits, and that all of its 737-800 and 737 MAX 8s would be equipped with the internet solution by the end of the year.
“Additionally, to celebrate the milestone of the 100th installation, WestJet may be surprising select guests with WestJet points and flights until the end of October.”
When WestJet announced that it would begin installing Starlink on its aircraft in July 2024, it said that its plans were to install it on its narrowbody aircraft by the end of 2025, and on widebodies by the end of 2026.
Planespotters.net records showed that the Canadian airline has 58 737-800 and 56 737 MAX 8 aircraft in its fleet, as well as 36 737-700s. However, WestJet did not mention the installation of Starlink on the 737-700s.
On September 3, it revealed its largest-ever aircraft order with Boeing, purchasing up to 85 737 MAX 10 (25 options) and 11 787-9s (four options) with deliveries through 2034.
