Wizz Air introduces European business class product on select routes

Wizz Air has joined the club of European low-cost carriers offering a business class product, or at least the European version of it.

Wizz Air has said that starting in January 2026, the low-cost carrier will be introducing a European business class product on select routes, with the airline blocking off the middle seats in the first row and offering complimentary drinks and snacks for passengers who upgrade to the product.

Wizz Air began offering its European business class product on select routes from seven airports in January 2026. According to the low-cost carrier, passengers will be able to upgrade to the product, marketed as ‘WIZZ Class,’ during the booking process.

The benefits of the upgrade are twofold: first, travelers will enjoy more space with a blocked-off middle seat in the first row of the aircraft, and second, they will receive a complimentary drink and snack. In addition, Wizz Air will offer priority boarding and a free 10-kilogram (22-pound) carry-on for passengers who upgrade to WIZZ Class.

Booking WIZZ Class

However, there are caveats. Currently, WIZZ Class will only be available if nobody has reserved either of the middle seats (1B or 1E), and passengers can only book the upgrade between 30 days and three hours before departure.

This means that Wizz Air will only offer the upgrade to up to four passengers per itinerary. Travelers will also have to upgrade to the product on the departing and return flights separately, meaning that passengers could end up enjoying WIZZ Class on only one part of their itinerary if the product is unavailable on the other leg.

Silvia Mosquera, the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Wizz Air, detailed that with business travel growing across the airline’s network, passengers have demanded “a bit more space and speed” without paying legacy fares.

“WIZZ Class answers that demand – offering passengers the room they crave and the service they deserve, without compromising our simple, convenient model.”

For example, on a flight on January 27 between London Luton Airport (LTN) and Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD), WIZZ Class is available to purchase for an extra £45.5 ($61.1) on top of the Wizz Flex bundle.

Eurowings’ business class product

Wizz Air is not the only European low-cost carrier that has been experimenting with business class offerings. Eurowings, the leisure-focused short-haul carrier of the Lufthansa Group, has already fitted two Airbus A320neo aircraft with a business class product called ‘Premium BIZ.’

Following an initial trial on flights between Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and Dubai International Airport (DXB), in December 2025, Eurowings said that it had fitted its second A320neo with the seats.

However, unlike Wizz Air, Eurowings’ business class product is akin to a true business class cabin, with the airline removing the middle seat altogether to offer a 2-2 layout at the front of the aircraft.

Eurowings detailed that while the first Premium BIZ-equipped A320neo, registered as D-AENI, will continue flying between BER and DXB, the second, registered as D-AENH, will have no specific route assignment.

Instead, it will serve as a “technical reserve” for D-AENI.

Similar to Wizz Air, Eurowings has offered Premium BIZ only as an upgrade. Passengers would have to book the carrier’s regular business class product and then purchase the upgrade to Premium BIZ for an additional sum.

In December 2025, the airline said that for a “transitional period,” Premium BIZ would be offered “at no extra charge” on flights outside the BER-DXB route.
